In the Chabad Lubavitch tradition"nigunim" (traditional melodies) play a central role in many facets of Chasidic life. Nigunim for joyous occasions, inspirational moments such as a "farbrengen" (Chasidic gathering,) and specific melodies during prayer and study. As taught by the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, "song is the pen of the soul". In line with this approach the concept of "Seder Nigunim" (a time for song) has been instituted into the Chabad educational system and as part of the Shabbat and Yom Tov celebrations. A time dedicated only for melodies, singing different selections from the Chabad tradition. This "Seder Nigunim" project is aspiring to convey this unique experience, uplifting those who participate to a place beyond words and connecting oneself with the deepest parts of their soul.
